I’m sick of people saying you’ll never achieve your fitness goals while slamming beers with your buddies. Sure, it’s gonna make the journey longer and harder, but that sounds hot to me.

With that, let’s talk about calorie wise beer.

Surprising to many, Guinness is pretty low cal. You always hear people say “it’s like having a meal.” It’s not. It’s 125 calories per can (355 ml), and it’s a full flavoured beer. It’s about 25 cals more than your standard light beer. I think that’s great.

Personally, I’m not particularly fond of those calorie wise beers. They taste like if Bubly made a beer flavour and it makes me feel duped.

With that being said, here are my favourite beers to drink when trying to shed a little winter weight:

  • Guinness

  • Coors Light

  • Cracked Canoe

  • Sleeman Clear 2.0

  • Michelob Ultra

The unfortunate reality is if you’re trying to lose weight and want to slug beers, you’ve got to limit your intake. Even if you’re drinking calorie wise low carb beer, if you drink 15 of them you’re still tossing back at least an extra 1500 plus calories.

At that point, consider vodka water.
